1978 TCMA The 1960's I Baseball Forum

In the inaccuracies section today a member has posted that he/she has several of this set, and lists the card#s with black text on the back rather than green. In the current checklist their is a few cards listed as VAR with this. Knowing TCMA's reputation of printing multiple print runs, and changing the colour stream on some of these newer print runs, should we just list the black back version as a parallel, rather than adding a VAR to every card as they are "found."

I would say it's a variation because I don't believe there are "odds" on getting different colors in packs/sets - but that's just me.

We had a situation like this the other day, and I forget which side of the argument I took. Whichever it was, I'll take the opposite on this one.

Seems like the question, (asked over six years ago), has never been answered as to the listing of black printed backs vs the green printed backs in this set. Most of the cards shown for this set are the green printed backs but i do see a black printed back Kaline & Banks pictured. I have a black printed back Ken Boyer (#0067) and am told there is a black printed back Barney Schultz (#0015) as well. I would like to see the black printed backs listed as variations. From the Forum it seems that others have various black printed back cards as well.

Is it the whole set or is it just some? If it's just some, they may be part of the 1987 Reprints.

Dan, my Boyer card does look like the 1987 reprint shown in that set.
