So no details in what you are referencing? Amongst other things it could simply be a print glitch, but you have provided us nothing to work with.

1980 yellow / red letters are not errors, they are just missing ink.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

There are 3 similar cards on the CL and have been there for a long time. Those 3 along with the one the OP mentioned are the most common but over the years I have seen 100 or so others from this set that suffer the yellow/red inking issue. Not saying what should be here or not just mentioning what I have observed.

This is correct. The Fred Stanley started it all and has been catalogued for decades, not to mention accepted by the hobby and collectors. Wathan, Braun, Poquette et al followed. PSA and the annual guides acknowledge these recurring print flaws (RPD) since they have been found by such a large portion of collectors over the years. The exact same situation as the 1990 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF and its neighbors.
Unfortunately, stuff like this doesn't fit into the simplistic perspective regarding variations held by the powers that be and will be rejected for checklist inclusion.
