When cards have been sealed in the package for a long time, they tend to stick together. (also called bricking). Although not a technical term, the cards that can't "breathe" tend to take damage, while cards exposed to open air usually don't. (but sometimes do). The damage from the UV coating sticking together sounds like what you describe.
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
