1977 Topps Star Wars Non-Sport Forum

Since I've gotten back in to card collecting late last year, I've been updating my collection tracking and noticed that some Star Wars cards have one star and others have two. Does anyone know anything about this? Is this a variant, parallel set or does it have any meaning at all? I've search the forum to see if this topic has been discussed and didn't find anything. I did find this link to a discussion from 2015 about different printing sheets but thought I’d check here. Thanks in advance for any information on this.

I'm not an expert on those, but the info in that other thread appears correct; the one and two star cards were distributed at the same time and in roughly the same quantity, and the number of stars seems to have been an internal reference used in manufacturing the cards, not something that was intended to be of significance to or even noticed by collectors. That said, some collectors are obsessive and focus on such details, and Star Wars seems to attract that type of scrutiny for some reason. A comment or trivia entry in the set description noting one and two star versions exist for all cards might be useful for future reference. Good catch.

Topps did that with many if not all their non-sports card sets in the 70s and 80s. Sometimes it was on the back not the front. Definately some sort of internal manufacturing code. I used to notice it at first on the stickers. 

From the link to that other forum they said it was a printing code to tell which sheet the card was on (a or b) I wonder if that also would indicate it the card was a puzzle back or trivia, storyline back? (one star for puzzle two for trivia or whatever).

I have puzzle and trivia cards with 1 and 2 stars on them.  From what I'm seeing it must be the printing sheet or factory like the 1979 Topps football cream colored back.
