A couple points:
Disallowing certain individuals who have proven to upload utter garbage to self-approve is an idea I support. Unfortunately, that isn't the case higher up.
Allowing people to overwrite scans should be allowed. I wouldn't even care about the points side of it, but what I do care about is that someone else would taking credit for a better scan. Currently, if you do overwrite a scan, the originl poster's ID still appears below the scan. I actually did that for one scan that was very washed out (it was a checklist that couldn't be read on here it was so bad), but no one will ever know it's my scan that made it so we can read the text on there now. That I don't like. Of course, there's the problem of people wanting to "get more credit" and just replacing everything whether it was bad or not.
I just came up with an idea. Maybe you guys can take it and make it better.
Just like with the Inaccuracy Report, when a set needs to be converted to NNO or deleted, we have a 1-2-3 system in place. Here's the idea.
A bad scan is detected. The tag "Scan Needs Replacing" (or a new tag) is placed on the scan (and front, back, or both is selected, and maybe a reason drop-down - just like in the crop area). The tags then get reviewed by the Level 8s (just like the IR). One Level 8 must agree, a second one must also agree, before a third then confirms it (the person applying the tag may not be one of the members in the process). Once confirmed, then when a member replaces the scan, it is a "true" replacement. The original is "deleted", the second is added, and the second submitter gets the "credit" (points also, possibly). This would ensure that it's not just 1 or 2 ranters who are going after someone but members who are truly trying to improve the visibility of the site.
Ok, improve that process, and then I'll approach Admin about it.
