1965 Topps Baseball Forum

Getting closer to someday completing the 1965 set ( * cough*... still need Mantle ...* cough*)  Flipping through my cards, I'm looking at Sam McDowell, and see another player in the background.  Sam seems to be in home uniform, so a fellow Indian?  Apparently Chico Salmon wore #26 and later  #17 during 1964, and continued with # 17 in 1965, so that's my best guess.  When woud this picture have been taken?  .....................and what's up with his back pocket??

Nice set to collect.  Good luck! My guess is that it is Chico Salmon as well.  Maybe taken at spring training in 65.  Looks like a cap in his back pocket.  Perhaps his game playing one was old / dirty and he grabbed a new one for the photo shoot.?

Seems to me the photo is from 1963, since it is just a different angle as his photo from the 1964 set.
