As my next project into my collection is to go through my master set of Pro Set 90-91
I have few questions. What would it takes to make it a variant rather than a printing error ?
I know that the entire Pittsburgh Penguins team set from serie 1 exist with the back upside down.
Also I know there is a Neil Broten with an Stanley Cup hologram on the back that exist.
I think this set is the "Plan 9 from outer space" of the hockey card. So bad , it has become legendary.
Have a nice day.

Variations are caused by the need to change something on the pronting plate ("Shoots Right" versus "Shoots Left", fixing a misspelling, changing a logo, etc.
Print errors are when the ink varies, wrong foil is used, or some other production issue - a non-plate changing issue.
Wrong backs, blank backs, upside down backs, etc. are not usually eligible for inclusion here.

I have my own "master" list (MS-Excel) of 1990-91 Pro Set errors/vairations/print defects, etc. that I would be happy to share with anyone who is interested.

This thread almost makes me want to go and buy the 1000's of 90/91 Proset offers where ever used cards are sold.
I try to trade them 10:1 for any card in my want list. :)
This is the coolest set out there because of how poorly it was done.

I got a lot of 90-91 Pro Set cards that need a new home..I may have to exclude you though Eriqulous because the USPS doesn't like our trades very much..

All the confirmed "variations" are listed. There are many unconfirmed cards in various lists out there but those listed here have been verified to exist.

~Rob~ Hockey set collector including inserts, ERR, COR, VAR. Knowledgeable about 1968-69 to 1994-95 hockey. All 1990 and newer cards for trade are NRMT. Expect the same in return. 1989 and older are assigned a grade. Everything on my trade list is available for sale. Reasonable prices based on condition. If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

yes please i used to go onto a blog site but it is now password locked down, next time i get on my scanner ill add some new variations (i think as i cant get access to the error page) like Reggie Lemelin #9 with two diaganol lines instead of the L in his name on the front, a few players like Paul Macdermid #331 with a dot inbetween the 3 and 1 on card number on the back and others, will need to check once i have finished sorting the boxes only have cards 350 to 400 to go

Printing glitches.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
