Anyone seen cards from this set with a person on the front and a different one on the back? I am trying to find information about one that I have in my collection that has P7 Mickey Mantle on the front and P8 Edgar Renteria on the back. Is this a common thing or annomily? And how do I put this on my checklist by image on the front or the number on the back?

These are called wrong backs. They have been happening for a very long time (happens when a sheet is fed the wrong way or the wrong sheet is included in the stack).

How you list it is up to you, 50/50 - either way you're half right. :)

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if maybe some cards were made that way or if it was an error. As I have started collecting again a couple of years ago (a lot of things had changed since the early 90's) I wasn't sure if there were variations intencially made that way in this set. As far as valuation for wrong backs? Do they value more because of scarsity or less because they are incorrect in most cases? I think more, kinda like a SP card right? Any thoughts on that part of these type of catds ?

Value is pretty much nil. There are people interested in these but as for selling it it has very little value.

So what you are saying is that they are just considered "scrap" and not a "1 of a kind"? or does demand over trump rarity?

I'm going to say it's in the middle of your reply and rmpaq's reply. "Nil" is NOT TRUE. Some people find worth in these cards. But it's also FAR from a "1 of 1". Collectors of error cards in any consideration of the word would be interested in this card. Any player or team collector would also be likely to show interest in owning it. As for value over the original "correct" card, that's completely based on interest in the specific card. Some collectors would be thrilled to add this card to their collection at a premium price, but there are also others that would consider it inferior to the "correct" version and will not pay much to obtain it (even as a space-filler card).

Basically, I'd consider the value of your card as about the same as the regular correct version. It would balance out in price b/t those collecting everything of that team/player/set and those only searching for the best copies of that team or player and the set collectors. Just my honest opinion!

I have run across items like this and when I have listed them on a place like ebay, I was very happy when I got $1 (plus shipping) for a card that is normally a dime or a quarter. A premium may be seen, but I wouldn't expect to retire off of it!
