Whats with the green or white backs? Varieties or what?

Please Please Please read my profile before making a trade proposal. My "wants" for my Cardinals collection is accurate from 1900 - 2008. I still have about 12,000Plus Cardinals cards from 2009-present to sort through and enter. Please do not offer any Cardinals cards from 2008-present unless you contact me first as there is a chance I already have it amongst the multitude to still go through.

I still have about 30K Cardinals duplicates that are not yet entered in the database as FS/FT.

It's actually gray or white backs. It was the different cardstock used. Some call the gray backs green because the green ink used for the text gives the optical illusion of an overall green tint to the back. And the "white" is not a pure white as you see nowadays. This variation only exists with cards 199 to 286.

Bumping a 4-year old thread again

So I just did a bunch of cleanup on the 1959 Topps set in preparation for adding the missing spots for the white/gray VARs of #199-286 and closing out an old IR.

Error/Variation list

I need some other sets of eyes to tell me if I have any of the white/gray backs incorrect, then I'll get started on adding the missing spots. (We also need to manually move 282a above 282b to keep things in order.)

I have 3 more verified White back versions. #54 Mel Roach, #375 Bob Nieman and #421 Herm Wehmeier. Can you add these BigEd76?

Please share images in the Card ID / Mystery forum so we can take a look. From what I understand, only a specific range of cards had the back variations. ------------------------------- * Ed * L8 * Cards in my personal Collection are unavailable *
