Other lists have Star Variations. Should we add a Star Variation for the Topps Sticker Inserts? I have confirmed a number of cards (especially Marcus Allen) that have a * and ** Variation for the Sticker Inserts.
I submitted an IR with proof of * and ** to get the 1992 Topps Kids cards added and they were added. I guess no one submitted an IR and/or proof to get the 1983 Topps Football Sticker Set added.
If we can get proof of the set, we can get it added. One card doesn't exude a lot of confidence in an entire set having the variation. Please provode proof for the whole set, and it can be added.
Does it require the entire set to get it added? I have a number of the cards with both variations, but certainly do not have the entire set. I collect Raiders and Chiefs, so for various sets (1984 Topps FB C*, D*, C*D* variations, 1987 Topps FB C*, D*, C*D* variations1992 Topps Letter and Star, and Letter only) I can prove that there are a number of them. Just trying to contribute for completeness but certainly do not have any entire sets.
You need to do the research for the entire set and get back to us. The site is crowd-sourced. There is no research team. Everyone is the research team. Including you. I get that you only collect certain teams, but I don't even collect football and I help add stuff to he football sets.
Typical with TOPPS products in the 70's and 80's, Non-Sports cards such as Wacky Packages and Charlies Angels had both * and ** variations. I know this is the Football forum but if you look at the Charlies Angels listing it breaks it down 3 ways which makes it easier to keep up with which cards you have.
Master Set
* - Astrick
** - Astrick.
Some collectors do not differentiate the 2 and will have sets built consisting of both first and second print. Others, like myself, prefer to build each printing set for a master set (Double the amount of cards)
Thanks Dan. Worst case scenario, I will ask to add the * and ** variations of the versions I have and others can add to it. I was only referencing the teams I collected as I can prove that those cards have the variations and am willing to help add those cards to the TCDB as a starter.
