Heya all. It's been a while since I've dug into '60 Topps. Steelers Tom Tracy is a personal favorite & I had just received an incredible copy to better my team set. Would anyone mind refreshing my memory when it comes to a decent bit of gloss, most noticeable being on the back of the card? Others, in just a team set, are the same. I'd just like to be certain of the one external link stating no double prints or simply make sure I didn't pick up a beauty of a reprint. Thanks kindly

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I'm not seeing the "glossy" part. Now the sharpness is somewhat suspect, but the only time I get very concerned with that is if it seems just a bit too perfect and shows signs of having being trimmed.

It's not trimmed, best of what I can see. It's slicker than goose .... though. Looked at just standing near a light last evening & I took several photos where the glossy sheen is incredibly noticeable. To the touch? Not a doubt. It's not a light gloss either.
I just messaged the seller, thanked him and asked why he thought there was a gloss coat on it. I'm without a computer & can only post photos from the "identity a card" forum page.

I've heard stories and seen a few examples of card being laminated to "protect them". Things kids will do.... Don't suppose it's anythgn like that?

Not laminated no, it's a gloss as you'd find on modern cards. The seller just wrote back & simply said "I had a number of cards from that set with a gloss finish - Ron". Nice to see some things don't change. Card resembles 78 Topps for example. Stallworth's RC reprint has the same feel on the back (sold that "original" off eBay a good ways back), I'd say this '60 Topps has more gloss than the reprint of Stallworth's RC. With the seller saying a number of cards from his set are like this? There's about to be a lot of folks receiving a reprint of some sort.

Yeah, I don't see the "gloss" in the seller's pictures. If it's as glossy as AlafiaRiver describes, then it's a counterfeit.

It's got to be counterfeit as it shines bright. A few photos taken last night actually caught no shine on it. Seller is a decent person, refunded.. asked for the card. Gladly just send it to him but, that means the glossy ones in his set along with Tom Tracy.. now will be listed for sale as it didn't bother him at all.
Thanks for the help confirming this is no good. Heads up on buying 60 Topps from him. Have a good one all.
