The 2022 Panini Prizm Baseball Debut Signatures set was originally set for 40 cards, but it appears that Panini only released 28 cards.
I searched eBay, COMC and Sportlots for the other 12: Justin Garza, Jake Hager, Anderson Tejeda, Travis Blankenhorn, Khalil Lee, Corey Ray, Heliot Ramos, Johan Oviedo, Sherten Apostel, Brandon Bielak, Luis V. Garcia and Kyle Cody. I came up with no results, including in sold listings.
Also, Beckett lists just 27 cards (omitting Jorge Mateo, who does show up multiple times on ebay).
Oddly, the Panini site's checklist lists two Debut Signatures sets -- one with the original 40 cards, and the other with 27. Aside from the omitted players, the two checklists are the same.
My presumption is that Panini planned the Debut Signatures set for 40 cards, but then cut it back to 28, maybe because it could not get all the signatures back on time.
Does anyone have any other thoughts or information, or reasons why the above 12 players should not be stricken from the checklist?
I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who can help me find a 1998 Bryan Braves (non-perforated) Kerry Ligtenberg and a 2000 Nabisco Albertson's Astros Chris Truby.
