Just noticed the front of the card #70 the word Ultra is in the card and #212 Ultra is in foil on top of the card.
Anyone know if this was intended or what the criteria was to differentiate the 2 ?

Agree with Billy. Unless it was something that helped distinguish a base from a promo, the location of the logo would be a trivia item and not really anything to note in Release Notes.

It isn't about the location of the logo, it just seems 1 series was issued with ultra in the card and the other with a gold foil topping the card, sort of how 1991 Donruss baseball went with green series 2 instead of the blue after series 1 obviously more visible than just the word ultra. Also it may be good to have an idea of how many cards were issued in series 1 and 2

The card counts are in the Release Notes
And those other sets with changes between series 1 and 2, they're noted in Trivia. 1999-00 and 2000-01 Upper Deck basketball were the same way.
