I have the silver refractor card #153 (Eddie Jones) in my hands. It does have the foil-coating on the front, the typical refractor shine on the front and slightly on the back plus the refractor mention on the back, but it does not have a serial number. Does anybody know, what card that is? Misprint? Another parallel? Counterfeit? A card that was added to another retro set?

Did you get it from a pack of repackaged cards? Sometimes cards that were supposed to act as a potential replacement for numbered cards end up in these packs because the manufacturer just sold them in batch for cheap to the repackaging company to clear some storage place/went bankrupt. That's probably the main reason how you can end up with cards that were supposed to be numbered, but aren't.

Considering the SNs were applied with foil, it could be a misfoil.  Usually replacements that end up in the secondary market are from bankrupt companies.  Topps is still in business and I doubt they sold it to another company.

I was thinking maybe because Topps has been out of basketball for a decade they could have dumped them, but you're most likely right.

Maybe less likely but plausible... the foil rubbed off. I have some cards from that set that were tightly kept in penny sleeves and top loader for many years where the foil number stayed with the penny sleeve when removed. Even my copy of that exact same Eddie Jones is missing half of the 0.

Thanks for your responses. I have bought the card from an dealer on the Beckett marketplace. It still has the protective film on the front. The backside is flawless on the space where the number shoud have been. So I really don't think it was rubbed of. But it might be. Strange.
