Everybody was presented this page https://www.tcdb.com/Permissions.cfm?MODE=Level5&ACTION=Review as they passed Level 5 permissions.
First bullet point is this:
- Members should not submit partial checklists composed of only the cards in their collections. Full checklists should be submitted wherever possible. If the full checklist is not known, members should post in the forum for the set to solicit more information from the general public.
First thing - "Members should not submit partial checklists".
Maybe if it popped out of the monitor and tickled the members noses.....

How about all checklists that are added go into a que for approval by say 2 or 3 level 8s. I don't know the exact process for adding "Packaging" photos or scans but they are not uploaded immediately...maybe the same can happen with checklists.??

The only issue with this is that I did a set with 550 Insert sets. Imagine how long that would have taken to get approved and it would have flooded the IRs.

It's expected that everyone has read and agreed to the terms through the permissions tests. It is expected that those who have read and agreed live up to that promise.
Mistakes happen. And we are chalking this one up to simply a mistake (rookie mistake?). I just wish the last bullet was enforced with more regularity:
- While mistakes happen and are expected, continual disregard for these concepts will result in loss of access.

here's a thought.... do away with the points for checklists.... is giving somebody 5 points really worth the headaches when it causes this much trouble?... let them point farm with something else , maybe be productive and knock some items off the to do list instead...
just my $0.02....

I don't think it's necessarily being done for the points. I just think some users are impatient and only think about their own collections with no regard to correctness or what others have. If a Major Release isn't added or updated, it's usually because all the info about the set isn't known yet. Maybe we have to look into only allowing L7s and L8s to add Major Releases.

Based on the events here, and with my ensuing discussion with Tim, I submitted this to the New Feature Tracker today. The Feature name is the same as something I already submitted, so it might be the same or very similar:
Feature: Checklist approval process
Details: For major release base sets, to ensure that the checklist is complete and accurate, if the submitter is not an L8 (those trusted enough to add cards throughout the site), then the checklist should post, but like the packaging area, show it, but don't allow images or collection info to be added, until it has been approved by 3 L8s.

exactly impatience and selfishness, but I don't completely rule out point-farming

Great new feature for sure. This should also allow L8s to take the info submitted and add to a master sheet of the set.

Not to be a pain about this, but when are the photo variants going to be added to the checklist? I pulled the Bregman and Bryant variations and would like to add them to my collection. Thanks for all your hard work everyone! If it's being worked on, I can wait too.
