Picked up a Hobby Box the other day. Guaranteed 1 Auto or Relic in the box. I got some worthless manufactured patch card. Are you kidding me Topps?! I actually thought they put out a pretty decent product this year, especially after the disgrace that 2020 Topps Update was. But no they have managed to screw up yet again!
The card for those wondering was:
Spring Training Cap Logo Patch Card #STCL-MCM Matt Chapman (Unnumbered Base)

Yeah and you probably paid good money for that box I watched someone open a $65 Optic hanger pack and didn't get anything but common cards what a ripoff people need to stop paying the ridiculous amounts of money to drive the prices back down we also need to stop entering box breaks but someone told me that this won't last long the card market will crash probably sometime in 2022

You did better than I did as far as the relic or auto goes. I opened my Hobby Box on release day and I didn't get either one. I did get the Dalbec SP though.

As much as I love ripping wax, just another reminder why I stopped buying boxes a couple years ago. I think in the very last box I opened I too got a manufactured item.

I got that same Chapman hat patch card but from my jumbo box. Well at least I buy it for the base.

Manuffactured patches are counted as relics for some reason. Topps has been doing this for a while.

Relic: an object surviving from an earlier time, especially one of historical or sentimental interest.
I guess technically it's from an earlier time than you got it in the pack and could have sentimental interest because you like the player or team....What a joke.

It's like when they went from "game worn" to "player worn" or whatever they call it now

The "relic" I pulled was a patch vesion of Jim Palmer's 1966 rookie card. It has no identifying marks on it whatsoever, so woe to whomever is trying to identify its original set 20 years from now.
