Does anyone know, or has anyone heard if there are 2 different orientations on some of these cards? For example, U-67, Michael Fulmer appears to me to have the back of the card oriented incorrectly compared to normal Topps convention over the last few decades. Is this a variation from a bad print run and there are others with the correct orientation, or are ALL U-67 Michael Fulmer cards like this? Does it make sense to note this in TCDB as UER for these cards for future generations? Maybe note it in the Trivia for the set which cards are not oriented correctly?
I know 1954 Topps has the same issue with some card backs not oriented the same as others (for instance: #65, Bob Swift) and that threw me off when I bought some and put them in binders. I initially thought I had some counterfet cards, but later learned this was not the case. It is not noted here in that set either and it seems to me that it would be good if it was.
Maybe it's not UER, but at least a listing of which cards are not oriented properly would be helpful since it appears to be a minority of cards. Having a list could at least help others understand and prevent the same question again and again (I know this will not be the last on this discussion). It leads me to be curious if there is a chance that there are correctly oriented cards out there that I can swap out for my collection.
Maybe there is a list out there already that someone can point me to so I can campare my 'upside down' cards to theirs to see if they are all the same ones?
Thank you for your thoughts!
