I was still working to complete the checklist. I'm not as quick as some and I'm doing it in the way I knew how. Doesn't matter at this point as it has been marked to be deleted.

No it wasn't, I'm not sure who added cards to their want list but it wasn't me. I added the list and was in the process of completing it.

Anyone can work on a checklist but please have it done correctly and as thouroughly as possible before uploading, its as simple as on poster said, more work than is needed. Don't shoot the messanger but it seems as though it was added to update your wantlist.

This is work that could have been avoided by uploading a complete checklist to begin with. Including Names, Teams, Notes, and all VARs in the checklist.
Even if you were to go back and add all Teams and Notes, you can't add cards to an existing checklist unless you're a Level 8 member. Now, those members who are at that Level and want to help the site have to take the time to enter 50 cards, one by one. We need more people to add checklists and help the site, yes, but not at the expense of taking other members time to fix the mistakes that could have been avoided in the first place.
I see during the course of my reply, others have explained the same thing here. And just for the record, ranfordfan, it was not Firemedic1242 who updated his wantlist; it was actually another user. I know usually it's the uploader who then immediately updates their collection, but that's not the case this time. I believe this was a well-intentioned mistake.
Mike, I encourage you to take the feedback here and understand why it's being provided. It's not to chastise or guilt anyone. The original post expressed exasperation not meant to be directed at you, but because this is not the first time this has happened. It also won't be the last, I'm sure. The difference is that those who have done it in the past have, with rare exception, ignored feedback and continued to do things in a manner that didn't help the site. I implore you to do the opposite, and learn from this, understand why this wasn't the best way to go about it, and move forward in good faith efforts to help the site.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Indeed, I was not trying to offend or turn someone off from contributing. really late night at work (happens when you work with people on the other side of the Pacific) and long day ahead of me still.....

New checklist is uploaded. A couple tweaks may need to be had (links to dual player cards) and maybe some Note1 that I didn't have. The multi-player cards may have titles on them, have not been able to verify yet. As such, simple fixes that does not impact anyone's ability to add now.

Yes, only certain people are allowed to add checklists. Those are people who have read the tutorial and passed the test to get a certain level of permission, and in the process, agreed that they would follow the rules.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I was in the process this week of entering the checklist into a spreadsheet to submit. As a first time enterer that did read the info and rules I didn't realize myself that all SPs had to be entered. Glad I didn't get the checklist in before someone else did. And have no interest in attempting a checklist. We all make mistakes and learn & we all start somewhere. But after reading this thread I'm gonna not try to learn check lists.

No, please try, don't let my little "tantrum" dissuade you. If you've read the rules and know what needs to happen then that's a good thing. We want as many members as possible to contribute; it makes the site that much better. I was grumppy this morning and I had a feeling that the person who uploaded the checklist knew better, but did it selfishly and only entered info for themselves. Notice that I did try to step back and aplogize if it was a first-timer.
As for VARs, while it is best to have as many as possible uploaded initiially, we are all aware that that may not be the case. Adding onsies and twosies is easy for the L8s. Adding 200+ (Topps flagship) after the fact, well......
Edit: And I should have added, I've made mistakes myself, everyone one here has from the seasoned veterans to the first-dayers. I've had the L8s help me along the way in order to learn best. I still had to ask a question when I uploaded this one. Thanks Jason!

To build upon Jim's point - checklists for major releases are tough. Between SPs, different notes, and a ton of information, I wouldn't recommend starting with them. Start small with inserts and parallels of inserts. Those are smaller checklists with less information and usually the Notes are the same (or close to the same) between cards. I would encourage anyone to start there and work their way up before tackling a 300+ card major release, simply to better grasp the concept and details needed.

Also, researching for older checklists. The older checklists don't have all the crazy VARs, SPs, etc. And the site really needs researchers to track down the older checklists that are missing.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
