I'm not sure if there's confusion, or impatience, or a combination of the two when it comes to these checklists, but I figured maybe putting this information into a public space would be helpful to those who may be unsure, especially because we've gotten a ton of IRs on these recently (like we do every year when they're released).
Please do not add single card checklists for these sets. We know there is more than one card out there for the subjects listed. A simple bit of research and homework via eBay and/or COMC (once these start getting listed there) will yield a very, very solid start to a comprehensive checklist for each player.
Just like their buyback sets, Topps doesn't release a list of cards that have been signed with print runs for each player. So to expect a complete checklist to be found is unrealistic. We know that. However, it's much easier to add one or two cards down the road, especially low print runs, as opposed to having to add 37 cards over the course of time.
Once a solid foundational checklist is established and loaded, these can be treated like the Topps Buyback sets, or as a "work in progress", where other cards found can be added. But please, do research first; we had one member who submitted an IR for one card, and when asked to find more of a checklist, not only researched it, but uploaded it himself just a few hours later, with 23 cards. Now, the entire site and hobby benefits, not just one collection.
This is also what is currently happening with Bowman Buyback sets from a few years ago. We were missing checklists, and instead of just uploading the one or two cards someone has in their collection, we have a few members going through the internet and adding checklists that are as complete as possible. Remember, this site is here to serve all collectors, not just an individual. Please help us all keep this a great hobby resource by researching and thinking of others too. Thanks.
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.
