1992 Upper Deck Baseball Forum

Hi all,

I’ve read that Upper Deck baseball 1989 was released in February of that year. Does anybody know when the Upper Deck baseball 1992 set was first released? Was it also issued in early 1992 before the season?

According to below it was released on July 17th. Whether that was the Low Series or High Series, IDK. However, UD was the last flagship release for any of the major companies for that year so could be 1st.

Thanks! I’m trying to figure out when some of the photos are taken that appear in the 1992 base set. With a a mid-July 1992 release, I suppose it was possible some cards have photos taken well into Summer 1992 then, right?

No. There is a healthy lead time to get a release out. The pics are from either last year (1991) or spring training at the latest. It takes time to do the photo editing, printing, packaging and distribution. The Hi Series was released later in the year and may have pictures from the summer (trade updates, new rookies, etc.).
