2019 Panini Prizm Racing Forum

I hate to beat a dead horse but here it goes. This set is a disaster.

The Base set  consists of Base 1-50, Acceleration 51-60, Prominence 61-70, Velocity 71-80, Power Train 81-90. There are 12 Parallel sets. Yesterday when I first started looking at this set, The 4 subsets and the 12 parallels of the subsets(48 sets) were listed as Inserts and needed to be deleted(luckily there were no checklists loaded for them so it was just deleted the sets 48 IR's)

After those were removed, it left 85 Insert sets. Everyone of them was loaded directly using the Panini checklists(which means they were loaded with just numbers). They all have a prefix or in the case of the autograph sets(a prefix and the driver initials) In addition the autograph sets were loaded with just the SN Note not the AU, SN Note. To further complicate the process the sets were locked so the Note could not be updated without an IR to unlock the set.

The Base and Parallel sets were loaded correctly with the base and 4 subsets and 10 VAR's but the listings for the VAR's are not finished(missing VAR Notes and numbering.

Another minor problem was the team listings. Many were missing and many are wrong(another problem Panini has is properly identifying teams (Ernie Irvan: the team is MB2 Motorsports not Nelson Bowers who was a part owner of the team. Rusty Wallace is consistently listed  by Panini as Team Penske when it was Penske Racing South when he drove) 

So once again, please if you are going to work on adding Panini checklists, please don't rush to add them directly from Panini.  It has been discussed many times that the numbers on Panini checklists very often do not match what Panini puts on the cards and research must be done to correctly enter them.

It is repeatedly discussed here that Panini is consistently messed up and it is a pain and a waste of time to go through these sets (that have been entered in a rush) and fix them when a little time and research would eliminate the problems.

I'm sorry for venting and I don't care who does it, it happens way to often and with many different members.  It is time to stop doing it and take some time and care to do these right the first time.

stump I hear ya and totally agree....but to play devil's advocate without the crappy Panini Checklists we would have no checklists of these known sets at all....It is a catch 22. If we wait around and identify a bunch from ebay, amazon, etc... and add them, only to find out there are 20 more that haven't hit the market yet we have a different but equally annoying mess. Your way is the right way, but also until every single card can be seen, verified from multiple sources, and then compiled by one singular person it can't happen that way. 

This of course would all be moot if Panini would just get their heads out of their a$$. Seriously I hate Bowman and Panini equally now. Is Upper Deck really the only major manufacturer that can get things right (Bowman=Topps). I am sure many hockey collector's will now point out Upper Deck idiocies as well. 

Upper Deck = "Easter Egg" inserts - i.e., un-checklisted cards so we have NO clue what to enter.

Fantastic so everybody sucks (except maybe that Star Company from long ago ) and we are flying blind with everybody.

I completely agree with you and understand your frustration stump. I would have done it right. But some people are just too damned impatient!!! What's really sad is that Walsh doesn't need the points AND he should know how to list a NASCAR CL by now! AND he messed up the very first card with the wrong team (as well as all other cards of Kurt Busch and Kyle Larson). It is Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and has been for about a decade now. Everyone listing NASCAR CL's the past several years has messed that up except me. Just b/c Panini leaves those last 3 words out doesn't mean we do it here.

I am so tired of all the screw-ups in CL's the past couple of years (in any sport), just b/c some people can't be patient and wait for more knowledgable people to do it right. This is the 3rd NASCAR release this year and twice it was massively screwed up before I got a chance to post a CL.

To address the comment we would have no checklists of these known sets. The release date of this set is 10/4/2019.  I was able to find enough images online to determine what the numbering should be in 2 or 3 hours,  I have spent at least double that time fixing the set and there are probably 20 Inserts and the Base and Parallels left to do.

Spaz: I believe Chip Ganassi Racing is now simply Chip Ganassi Racing. I think the Earnhardt-Ganassi combine marked the end of Chip GanassiRacing with Felix Sabates. The uniform logo now is just Ganassi Racing(with Felix Sabates is no longer on the bottom of the patch.

Submit an ir to have the cl removed. If possible, the wrong crap will be gone and the right thing can be uploaded.

2019 Stars & Stripes made me hate Panini for this very reason.

I have ZERO ability when it comes to website coding, so I beg forgiveness if this is a stupid question. Is there a way that all Panini checklists could be flagged for approval by one of the admins prior to opening it up to everyone on the website?

I know that creates extra work for the admins, but that seems to be a guarantee, anyway, when it comes to Panini. At least admins would have the ability to stop a checklist from being uploaded rather than having to go back in and work on it for hours on end like stump417 did.

Just a thought.

The logo just says Chip Ganassi Racing now, but the company is still called "Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, Inc.". Felix has been with the company through the Earnhardt merger and is still part of the company. Look at the copyright line on any card of a Ganassi driver or car.

Someone incorrectly uploaded the checklist for 2019-20 Panini Contenders Draft Picks as well. It is beyond a mess. All subsets loaded as inserts. They even have the variations their own insert listing. Wtf??

I made the correct checklist in Excel that can be appended to the base and submitted an IR. Hopefully it can be fixed someday as I have cards I want to add but am waiting for the correct checklist.

There seriously needs to be a limit on uploading base Panini checklists because whomever is doing them never gets it right
