Hey everyone, Can someone pleae help me with the following question:

Why don't collector's place a premium on the Red series?  I've been searching and it's hard to find information on Total run etc.

From what I gather, the REDs are a short print, but not sure that is right.  Any guidance wouod be great. Thanks

I figure you're talking about the Red Press Proof parallel?  Most of the unnumbered Press Proof parallels came as retail exclusives depending on type of product and store.  Example the Green Press Proofs were a Target Exclusive in their hanger boxes.  From a little research (watching a couple YouTube videos) it looks like the Reds came in regular hanger boxes and were found 4 per box. As to why they aren't more desirable or command more of a price premium.  That's all about consumer demand.  

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.  Can you or anyone else confirm that the reds were a shot run?  I think amateur collector's are naive to the information you provided, there are def less reds for sale.

Do you mean the red base card parallels that say PRESS PROOF or the red insert parallels- Legends of the Fall comes to mind for Donruss? As I know it they are less frequently produced but do not qualify as an actual SP or SSP but that doesn't stop one from calling it "Rare" or "Hard to Find". However I don't have the whole insert list completed and have doubles of the red version...that should tell you something :)

An SP is almost always defined by a marked numbering system or on the brand's checklist page...at least it should be but if you're on here a while you'll see the frustration with Panini checklists especially :)
