2019 Donruss Baseball Forum

The VARs in this set are not listed as SPs like they are in 2018 Donruss.  And nowhere in the sell sheet does in state that the VARs are short printed.  However the VARs are inserted at roughly 1 per pack.  So wouldn’t this mean that they are still SPs?  What qualifies something to actually be classified as short printed?

If it's printed in smaller quantities than the remainder of the set. 

And to add to that - if we are unsure of the quantities printed of the cards, we should not mark them as SPs just because we "think they might be". Topps announces that their intentional "VAR" cards are in fact short printed, hence the reason we mark them as such. The Donruss ones, if they are not announced as SPs, then we cannot, in good faith, list them that way - because they very well could be printed in the same quantities.
