With the acquisition of #22 Jackie Robinson today ($99.99), I have finally completed the 1950 Bowman Baseball set after less than 5 years collecting this set. I started collecting the '50B set shortly after discovering the '51T set (missing 9). Both sets share similar card dimensions and fit into 12-pocket pages. The '50B set was the last of a 3-year run ('48B, '49B, '50B) to fit into 12-pocket pages. The '51T set rounds out a 4-year period and makes for a perfect transition to Topps baseball card sets. The '50B set helps to complete the 1950's decade, which you can't do with Topps sets alone. One of the most famous Bowman sets is the '51B set, which was modeled after the '50B set. The '51B set used the same 252 cards from the '50B set, but made the cards larger, with more vibrant colors, and with the players' names on front. It also included 72 additional players for a total of 324 cards. That set is nearly unaffordable to most people (got the CCC reprint set instead), but the 1950 Bowman set gives you essentially the same cards.
The completition of my 1950 Bowman set leaves a gap of partial sets between 1951-1967. Due to the very expensive high-numbers in the '67T (missing 51) and the '66T(missing 40) sets, I started collecting where I could find affordable vintage. By affordable, I mean lowest percentage of Book Value (i.e. paying $3 for a $10 card is not as good as paying $3 for a $30 card). I'll probably complete the '62T (missing 2) and the '60T (missing 25) set before either the '66T or '67T sets. Other than Nolan Ryan's RC (and Mike Trout's RC), my 1968-Present sets are complete.

Let me be the first to congratulate you. That's an amazing accomplishment, collecting-wise. Here I am just thinking of adding only one Bowman card to my collection.
Good luck on the other sets. And go find that Ryan!

I like the smaller ones than the larger format, but all are cool!

Fantastic. Congrats on an impressive accomplishment!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
