Should this be labeled as an UER?
The front picture sure does look like Tino Martinez.

Only if you're 100 percent sure. But the "1" on the jersey doesn't belong to Schaefer.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I'm definitely not 100% sure, but believe there's strong evidence, or maybe just conjecture, for these reasons:
- The jersey number that you brought up;
- It sure looks like Tino Martinez;
- Although TM is pictured in his '92 Donruss card using a brown glove, there are other sets that show him with a black one;
- It is a first baseman's mitt;
Why not 100% sure:
- Since most cards show a player during spring training the jersey number doesn't necessarily mean that's what was used in the regular season, especially for non-veterans;
- Schaefer did use #15 at one point on another team;
- Schaefer is listed as an infielder, though baseball-reference doesn't show he played first base, but again, if it's during spring training, he may have played there, especially being that he was not a fixture on the team and may have been a candidate ala Marwin Gonzalez;
- He does have a definite resemblance to TM
This came up in a FB discussion and I actually waver in my opinion. It's not a major issue to me except for accuracy's sake I'd like it logged, and if it is since I'm a Tino Martinez collector and I don't own the Schaefer card I probably would want it.

Seems like those reasons for are more facts and those reasons against are kind of mental gymnastics to tell yourself otherwise. I'm convinced it's Tino Martinez on the front. That's a good catch! I love finding those things.

I cannot take credit for the find (if it is in fact one), but I did do some research when it was brought up on my FB discussion. It caught my eye for two reasons, namely that I collect Tino Martinez, and that the person who questioned it said that TCDB didn't recognize this as an error. Others, including me, corrected him in that it would be classified an UER since no COR was issued to side with an ERR. So all that just to say that I didn't identify this possibility.
I am, though, going to do a little more research, possibly trade for the card to see it up close and personal. The two players sure do look alike. Sons from different fathers?

Tino wore #14 for the Mariners in 1990-1991. It's definitely him. I added the note.
Which reminds me, there is a variation on the David Wells card in this set. In the factory sets, the "CAREER HIGHLIGHTS" is in black instead of red.

Thanks for making that change. I could have done it, too, but was hesitant. Now I've got to add this to my Want List.
With this and the one you pointed out we've begun the process of bringing '92 Donruss down to earth. Up until this there were no ERR/VARs showing. Does an UER qualify for that report? It's not showing on the page.

UERs do NOT display on the ERR/VAR report.

The number is offset on his back and if you have the card in hand you can see there is another number on his back. from what I can see of it I would say it's a 4. Another hint is ears are like fingerprints and they don't match with the photo on the back.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)
