2018 Topps Baseball Forum

OK, I've been trying to figure this out for hours now, and I haven't been able to. So I figure at this point it's either something completely obvious that I'm overlooking and one of you can solve in seconds... OR its a mystery. This is a 2018 Topps #140 Mookie Betts, but it's a parallel number /50. Looking at the parallel list for this set, the only cards numbered out of 50 are Father's Day Blue, and Mother's Day Pink. This is definitely not blue or pink ... so I ask, what is it?

 - That is listed as the Father's Day Blue.

So you're saying it is the Father's Day Blue?!? That's the least blue, blue parallel I've ever seen lol. Especially compared to the 2018 Opening Day Betts Blue Foil parallel I have.

I ran into the same issue, different card from 2018.  My eyes must be worse than I thought because I am not getting blue out of it at all. But if Dan says it is Father's Day blue, then blue it is!

Only because I saw others in the "blue" that hardly look blue. This is one of the reasons I think "color parallels" of unbordered cards are pretty useless. Look through some of the other Father's Day Blue cards,.and you'll see that they aren't very blue. But the colorations is definitely paler compared to the base card.

I think I see blue in ther. Look at the top of the back stop where the grren ends and transitions to the crowd. Looks like there is a white border that turns blue in the parallel. If there was no white on the card at all, they aren't going to shade the uniform, would probably never see it. 

The dang Base card looks more blue to me than the supposed blue parallel.  Another reason to be thankful for the veterans on this site.  They have seen it enough, that even if it's not super obvious, they know where to look.  Great investigative work guys!
