2000 Topps Baseball Forum

Im putting in my FS/T and my Collection and I am staring at this card, the photo is correct and everything. The problem is that it says copyright 1999, and this is the first card I have come across that says 1999, and it can be found in the 2000 Topps. Can someone explain to me is it really 1999 or 2000, and if it's 2000 why does it say 1999. I was taught always go off of the copyright year

It's best to use the statistics to determine the set year it belongs in. The 247 wins were reached in the 1999 season (confirmed with card #170) so it goes with the 2000 set. The copyright often doesn't match release year for many sets over the various products.

The cards are produced in November or December of the previous year for an early release in the new year. You'll see the same thing on much older sets as well.
