I finally bought a couple of packs of the 2017 Heritage. I pulled a Rizzo All-Star card. When I looked at the set checklist and the team cards I realized that both Salvador Perez and Eric Hosmer were missing from the All-Star cards. Really! Come on! Both players were starters and Hosmer was even the MVP! I wish I could dial a number and talk to someone at Topps. I wish there was some connection the company felt with the fans. I get so frustrated with certain aspects of the sets. Oh well, enough complaining.

Follow my blog - I Identify as a Card Collector. “Aslan didn't tell Pole what would happen. He only told her what to do. That fellow will be the death of us once he's up, I shouldn't wonder. But that doesn't let us off following the signs.” - Puddleglum in The Silver Chair by C. S. Lewis

You're very generous. Topps, bless it, goes in the wrong direction like this frequently. I, too, wish they had a consumer hotline. "Hello, Topps? No full career stats on the back of the basesets this year? Really? Is that what the studies said we wanted?" But I'll probably collect them until I die.

v3,
Yes I'll continue to buy their products also. I was complaining to my wife about the All-Star snub and she said "Well, if you're unhappy you don't have to buy the cards." She didn't understand when I told her that not buying really wasn't an option. At least buying the cards and packs makes my son happy. He's expecting to inherit them after I'm gone. Of course he hoping that I complete my early 60's set before that happens.

I know how you feel to. Makes it look like TOPPS picks players by throwing darts Or why you play. This year for the base set O bought over 72 hobby packs ( 2 boxes plus packs from counter) and some others 36 ct, 72 ct, and 101 ct boxes, to get a sample of the packaging. I pulled no PHILLIES from 1st Hobby box and about 5 from the rest of the packs. I traded some cards to a trader near Seattle for PHILLIES, and he said he hardly pulled any MARINERS cards from his 2 Hobby Boxes.
TOPPS needs a HOBBY RELATIONS Rep for the major sports and another at lease for other releases. When I stopped collecting in 2007, it was because I had to buy diapers and formula not being mad at Topps.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Send a letter to the CEO via snail mail. I just did. I think the gool ol' fashioned post office letter hits more than an email or phone call, since it's harder to delete, and it shows that someone has taken the time to express their opinion.

Peace and cards, David Building up baseball sets slowly but, well, slowly. Residence in New England has no bearing on my favorite teams, players, or how I pronounce "card." Forgave my dad for putting his '52 Mantle in his bike spokes, but not my brother for plastering his room with my Star Wars stickers.
