I picked up my hobby box today and now I need to open them to see what I got.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I hope to get one this weekend at a show. Until then, I'm going to pick up some packs hopefully at local retail.
I'm a little surprised that Topps stopped doing complete major league stats and now just show the last five years. I could care less the twitter handle of the player. I wonder how cool that will be to see for collectors in 20 years. Sorry, I'm getting perturbed by the changes they are making and the fact that they don't listen to collectors. I'd love to see managers and I'd like to see them keep up with trades/free agent signings better. Oh well. I also don't understand why they no longer honor stars with card #X00 or #X50 this year.
Sorry for my mini rant.

I am watching the Meijers & Wal Mart here locally for them to hit the shelves. Checking tomorrow.
Totally in agreement with you on all points Dan. That's one "mini-rant" appreciated.

Grabbed a 36 count hanger pack at target because I just cant wait to purchase my hobby box on Saturday. Couple of questions.
One of the cards is a Memorial Day inser numbered s-82 of Albert Pujols. From reading about the set, I thought the Memorial Day cards were a parallel camo set and not an insert. Also in the pack was a information card describing Topps cards, Topps Bunt 17 and Topps Now. The flip side has a 1970 Nolan Ryan reprint. On the info side, I found reprint at the bottom, but there is no number. Has anyone heard if these cards will have different images, and if so, will we know how many there are.

Never mind about the Memorial Day card. Actually found it as part of the Topps Salute insert set.
Still would like to find out about the information card though.

I got a few of those info cards , one with a 1969 Reggie Jackson and one with 1989 Traded Griffey Jr. , I am curious as well as to how many different ones of these there are . I don't think they count them as cards cause I got mine out of retail 12 card packs and both had 12 cards pluse these info cards .

I bought some packs today. A couple of the cards appear to normal base set card but have serial numbers on the back. What's the explanation about these cards?

I see now. They're gold serial numbered.

The colored parallels don't seem to pop as much as they previously did. I haven't seen one in person though

Agreed on this. I haven't picked up any packs yet, but I was looking at Kershaw's card here and felt a nagging sense that something was missing. I guess it's just a sign of the times -- statistical information is easy to come by and Topps felt they wanted to distinguish themselves in another way -- but I think it was a step in the wrong direction.
I do like the front design of the cards. They look good to me.
