1989 Bowman Baseball Forum

There's a few cards in this set where the nickname on the card doesn't match what's in the checklist here.  I just wanted to make sure what the guidelines are for this, I can update.  Example: https://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/127/cid/63269/1989-Bowman-369-Tim-Raines

He's listed as Rock on the back of the card, but the sig on the front is Tim.  It looks like Rock is already set up as an alias, so I don't think there will be any issues with linking to the correct PID.

The current directive is "What is on the card".

a lot of 1989 cards for Tim Raines give him the name "Rock" Raines

and TCDb database card lising is going with: "what is on the card," per vroomed, in his reply on 2/11/19

but why are 89 O-Pee-Chee / Topps Stickers, with nothing on the card at all, listed as "Rock" Raines?

Because it works, and Topps was putting that on all their products? 

And in a moment of less clarity (I just read his autobiography...he regrets it...) Tim asked to be called that so Topps obliged. This just for those who didn't know the big picture.

The names on the Topps/OPC stickers are what is on the back of the sticker (paper), or for the ones with the card backs, how it's listed in the sticker album.
