What's the difference between the modern Topps Archives sets (2012-present) vs. the Topps Heritage sets (2001-present)? Except for the fact that Topps archives sets includes modern players on a few different vintage designs opposed to Topps Heritage putting modern players all on the same vintage design, I really can't tell the difference.

Probably the biggest difference is card stock. Archives is pretty flimsy, Heritage's stock is pretty solid though. Other than that, not much else than the obvious.

Heritage is just one past year style from 49 years ago. Archives is 3 or 4 different styles (every 100 cards or so is another year) there is no clear reason for which years of Archives are used. As already stated Archives card stock is the thinner flimsy card stock Heritage is closer to the sturdier card stock. Hertiage is mostly the modern day players using the vintage design. Archives has current players and vintage players mixed. Often some of the vintage players appearing on an Archives card will have a card from the original year the Archives design is based on.

Heritage always includes manager cards too, which is something that I know a lot of members (myself included) like to collect.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster. |

I believe the Heritage sets only include a manager card if the year that is represented also included manager cards. The early years did that so we should still see manager cards for a few more years. Same principle with the team cards.

I agree with this. Except with the team cards in Heritage they are doing the modern thing of showing action shots, not the entire team photo like I really like for team cards.
