Jim Thome card, https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/1001/cid/161777/1997-Score-107-Jim-Thome
Who is the Reds player on this card? Kevin Mitchell? Looks like that is a play at third base? terrible slide. Thome transitioned to first in 97, is this a play at first? Looks like he has the ball in his glove, why is he so far away from the base? Interleague play didn't start till 97, so I guess this was a spring training game?
Anyway, I'm just bored because all the cactus league games have been cancelled today.

Can't be third unless Thome's facing the outfield, and besides then the Reds' slide makes no sense.

Poor quality scan, cannot even read the back. Looks like Thome has the ball in glove. For many years, most of the photos were taken in Florida during spring training. You have all the players locked into one place. Then they started the cactus league.

Either 3rd base waiting for a throw from right field or 1st base after a fly out that the runner is diving back into the base. Looking at the chalk line I can't figure out if it is going down the line into left or if it is coming from home plate. Thome looks to me like he is pounding his glove waiting on the ball.

Thome is listed as a 3B on the back of the card. Looks like the player sliding probably took a wide turn at 2nd and Thome is at this point is waiting for a throw to come in late from RF. As said it's a weird angle and hard to tell if he has the ball. Looks like the infamous "Prince Fielder" type of slide.

He is not wearing 1b glove. I would say 3b, photo taken from home plate side of first base dugout. Play is happening on right side of infield and runner has no business sliding.

Good call noticing the glove, agree must be at 3rd base.

Indians played the reds in 3 games in 1997, in June. If it was from this series, the player could be Eduardo Perez. Thome played first in these three games. When did this set come out?
I can't find their spring training schedule from 1997.
