I have a Jose Canseco 1988 Star card with a green color gradient/dark green Star text/white name text and a picture of him post-swing I've yet to find anywhere. It says "Oakland A's / All-Star Stats" next to his name on the front. The back is identical to that of the 1988 Star Jose Canseco #4 with the exception that the number is listed as "4 of 11", rather than just "4". Any ideas?

Jose was a popular player in 1988 - we did multple sets of him. It has been almost 30 years since then, so I don't remember from just a written description. The only baseball cards not issued in set form were the 1989 and 1990 minor league "wax" issues. So the card you describe was actually issued in an 11-card set. If my memory doesn't fail me completely here, I think we did a yellow set along with the 2 variants of green sets. On a side note, we also made a set where we completely meesed up and the name was "Jose Conseco". I have seen a couple of those sets in the hobby (not put there by me). As far as I knew, we didn't have an official release for them. Not sure how any of those got out of the warehouse, but I left in 1993. Sounds like a lot of old stock found its way into the hobby within about 5 years of me leaving there.

Hey C2Cigars, vrooomed; thanks for the reply. If Star did two green Canseco sets in '88, I would assume that the card I have is from the one not listed on the site. I did some more research, this set seems to be absent from the database (at least, I can't find it), and it matches stylistically with the card I have here. So, mystery solved. Now... what do I do to get the set added to the site?

There were 3 versions that year of the Star Canseco set.  One was with his name spelled wrong "Conseco"; the one with light green borders and dark green name; and the one you describe as yours, dark green borders with white name.
