I never really liked Brady on the Patriots, wasn't sure if that was because he always won and the Bucs didnt have a decent Quarterback to get even close to winning. I obviously became a fan when he came to the Bucs. It was nice to be able to see lots of games on TV since I live in Illinois. The more I watched of him off of the football field, the more I grew to like him, of course it helped that he brought another title to Tampa.
It was fun while it lasted in Tampa. Guess the Bucs are headed back down to the cellar without an All Pro QB and about 50 million dollars of the cap. Maybe the cost of their cards will finally go back down so I can afford some more

It’s crazy that he posted something because many are speculating that he isn’t really done

Yeah, I'll believe it when next season starts and he's not on the field.

Part of me still thinks if a situation presents itself in June or July, he may still end up on the field with someone. Same kind of thing happened with Favre, I mean he retired 2-3 times. Brady can still play but really does need the absolutely right situation and I'm not sure one exists at the moment.

Since I posted in this thread last year, and I'm doing so again, I might as well try to cover some ground for future posts regarding Brady's retirement.
Best of luck to you for the rest of 2023, Tom. And hey, you were one if not the best ever, so good luck for the rest of 2024 now that you've retired again. Man, can't believe you still played another year, but 2025 was great, thanks Tom. Wow, 2026...

I wonder if the injury to Brock Purdy effects this decision.
If the 49ers find out that Purdy's UCL injury is going to need surgery, and that surgery is going to need 1 year to recover from.
And if the 49ers feel that they are a superbowl team, only missing a QB.
And if the 49ers are done with Trey, feeling he just doesn't have it.
and if Jimmy Garopolo has some trade value, for a team needing a QB
then, it could be the perfect situation for Tom on a 1 year deal.

Oh, I TOTALLY believe him this time. I'm sure he isn't just doing this to get teams to stop annoying him all offseason...

Thank goodness....I hope he stays retired this time. Should've the first time. Excellent QB, but I'm ready to hear about someone else.

Jimmy G can't be traded or franchise tagged he is an unrestricted free agent after this season. So that doesn't enter into what the 49ers do as far as Trey Lance and Brock Purdy. And Purdy will require Tommy John surgery and will likely be out 6 months minimum.
