One of my favorite players. Even though he played with many teams, I'll always remember his years with the Mets.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Le Grand Orange! Hall of Very Good (trust me, that's a compliment; it's an impressive Hall) and a favorite. And only twelve people in the history of the game appeared in more games than Rusty. Think about that.
Rest in Peace, Rusty.

I was still a young fan when we traded Mickey Lolich for him but appreciated his talents. RIP

I wasn't very familiar with Rusty but I have some of his cards. I was always impressed by those guys that when I looked at their stats on the back of the card they had to change the font to get everything in. 13th overall is a massive accomplishment and what is really great about it is to achieve that statistic you had to really love what you were doing and that is pretty spectacular.

Sad to hear that this morning. One of my dad’s favorites, especially as a Tiger. RIP Rusty.

Very sad. I remember him first with the Astros.

I remember him as an Expo. Part of the inaugural Expos.
