LA County Sherrif reporting that Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a single car rollover and was extracted with the jaws of life and taken to hospital. Currently undergoing surgery for serious leg injuries

Sounds like non-life-threatening injuries which is obviously good news.
May be premature to wonder this, but could be the end of his career?

He is undergoing surgery on both his legs right now, so a return seems very unlikely in my opinion.

The area where he crashed is near my home and I've frequently driven that road. Very easy to pick up speed there. In fact they have runaway truck deceleration lanes there because of the grade. But there are lots of cards driving that road every day.

I wonder if he was under the influence of pain killers and driving. I hate to think it, but it could be the end, or at least a long time to make (another) comeback.

Tiger is around 10 years older, but over 60 years of tech and medicine advances later make me wonder if the Ben Hogan story would inspire someone as driven as Tiger to make a dramatic return.
Of course this is with not knowing the true severity of the injuries, but Hogan's accident did cross my mind.
