I see that a lot of his cards are listed as UER's due to his birth year being listed as 1932 instead of his real birth year of 1929.  It doesn't seem like this should be considered an UER when it was the correct known date at the time of issue since he apparently lied about his age when he was signed -- yearbook entries and media guides from his playing days also listed the 1932 date. I think of UER's as thing that was known to be incorrect at the time and could have been corrected during the year of issue.

Agree. I believe this has been discussed in the forums before. The card companies did not make an error based on the information they were provided. The information can be put in Note2 but not as an UER.  No different than when errors are discovered in the record books and player's stats are corrected.
