Sad Day to be a Tigers Fan today to learn the passing of Al Kaline. We in Michigan so desperately need some good news. This was not it. Thoughts go out to all of his family and to Tiger fans everywhere.

Thanks Mr Tiger, You will be missed, but you live in all of us who you shared your talent as well some of my greatest childhood memories. I will never forget watching and meeting him a few times at Tiger Stadium. I always remember the day he made this young kid cry when he signed my baseball card as I didn't know who he was, I thought he was ruining it, but later came back with a autographed baseball which I still have in my office. We lost a great one, RIP Al

Sad day here in the greater Detroit area. Talking to some of my coworkers in the past who grew up watching him and seeing Kaline on the local news telling the young guys what it means to play for Detroit I learned what he means to this area.

Ah man. I hadn't seen this. I was born in Detroit. I was only there for about six months, but always had an affinity for the team. I distinctly recall that looking at the back of my 1974 Al Kaline card was the first time I went, "Whoa, look at the total number of hits he has!" So sorry to hear this.

sad news indeed. i never got to see him play, but growing up in the greater toledo area, we were able to pull in detroit tv to watch tiger games with him and george kell. my older brother and i would often parady our own sports show as "george tell and hal kaline', with me being hal kaline. many great memories from that era, the bird, disco demoliton night. in one game, i forget who they were playing, but detroit was up big, and aurelio rodriguez was still the 3rd baseman. there was a pop up that would have ended the game, and my brother yelled at the tv, drop aurelio drop it, and sure enough he dropped it. lol. rip mr tiger

My favorite Tiger of all time. When I shagged flies in the backyard as a kid I always pretended to be Al Kaline. Saw him play a few times, watched him on television his whole carrier, met him once for an autographed photo, and have a few Topps Autographed cards of him. I will miss seeing him coaching the younger Tigers, or popping into the broadcast booth. Farewell Number 6, Mr. Tiger, Al Kaline.

Help needed on a Al kaline card. It’s a 1993 spectrum Diamond club #3, but it’s supposed to be numbered to 10000, but mine is a promo. It’s not like the unnumbered promo card of 1993 spectrum promo cards as the back is different. Thx
