Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Bummer! Very sorry to hear! Maybe someone who is listed as successfully traded with him/her has more details and maybe any suggestions for how this trading card community could help (via re-establishing a collection or otherwise...financially)? Just a thought! Be thankful for what you have and every day you're breathing! Brian

I'll look for his address as I completed two deals with him. I hope I have the correct one because there was a problem with mail delivery and he had to get them delivered to his parents home.
Anyway, as far as helping rebuild his collection he collected only baseball and went back to 1982. He was an Atlanta Braves fan as I sent him two team sets (1988 & 1990 Topps), and I emptied my RC collection of Ron Gant and David Justice. He did own ther cards and had just returned to collecting last year. I think I was the first he dealt with.
If you're interested in helping out PM me and I'll see if I can locate his address.

Absolutely terrible news, my prayers are with him and hope all is well. I have zero baseball so I can not help out in that way. I`m in Canada too so all I can do is hope all is ok for now. =(

I think I've found the address, but I'm going to confirm it first. For those who've been emailing me just hang tight and I'll get that info to you.
His name is Charles Fields. I'll get back to you guys later today.

Ok, I have his address based on our communication via our last deal. I had to search a bunch of emails because once a trade is completed the address is removed from the transaction page for some reason.
Anyway, I've emailed it to those that had requested it up to this point. If anyone else is interested just PM me.
He and I had an unofficial agreement, I'd send him team sets of Braves and he'd send me my Astros along with other random players I'd request. So, as a way to coordinate I thought maybe we need to post what we're sending him.
I'll be sending him '89 Fleer Braves team set along with stickers. I don't know if he had those or not, but I had them set aside for him anyway, now I'll go ahead and send them.

I'm going to send out a few team set of the braves since I have a bunch collecting dust.
Topps 87,89 Fleer 90 Donruss 89,90 Leaf 91,92 Bowman 89,90
That will be a good start and satisfy the pay-it-forward that NewJersey sent to me.

1984 Topps Glossy All-Stars
1988 Score
1991 Fleer Ultra
1992 Fleer
1993 Donruss
Dang, I guess I won't be getting rid of those 1987 Topps.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
