I hope Jim Leyland makes it in. I was a fan of the Pirates in late 70s to mid 80s

As much as I don't like him as an umpire, Joe West does deserve to get in. Lou should get in too.

I always liked him too and collect his cards. I wish he had won with the Pirates.

My preference would be for the HOF to stick to players. I can't imagine anyone making the voyage to Cooperstown for a visit has any interest in seeing a room full of tributes to managers, umpires, broadcasters, etc. And, on top of that, not seeing the hit king, home run king, or CY Award king just makes the whole experience feel a bit ridiculous.

Joe West worked forever, but his skills as an umpire were merely average. Ask any player from his era for his best umpires and I doubt West would be on the list.

My choices would be Cito, Leyland, White and likely Ed Montague

I respectfully disagree. There are plenty of none players or players whose post player career had more impact on major league baseball then their playing career did. Bob Uecker, Harry Carey, Lou Pinnella and Billy Beane off the top of my head. The Baseball Hall Of fame should include all who had a lasting impact on the game not just players who had an impact while they played. At least IMHO
