Despite his "trashy" long running show, his humour and wit is something I appreciate.

I watch Baggage every morning before going to sleep, it seems he has been there for most of my life and feels like I lost a friend.

This has been a tough week for notable people lost. I probably have to credit my repeated viewings of the Springer Show in my youth with at least some of my training in knowing when it seems that people are about to escalate things beyond words. Sure, watching Jerry slightly step out of the way or his bald bouncer entering the scene gave a bit of a clue, but eventually one could just see it coming imminently. He seemed like a genuinely nice and engaging guy.

R.I.P. Jerry! One of my favorite shows of all time.

from mayor to t.v., he was a Ohio staple. a real Reds fan.

I was utterly shocked to learn he was mayor of Cincinnati at one time.  Quite the interesting guy! 

Yes I think he was the mayor that banned adult magazines & strip joints (or something along those lines) within the city limits. Larry Flynt, who happened to be involved in both of those industries in Ohio, and he were not on the best terms with each other. 

Add lawyer to that list also.
