Wow What a race, I feel bad for Truex, Getting taken out while in the top 5. Which sucks for my NASCAR pool I would have had top 5 at the finish. Alot of Wrecks, But at least no phantom cautions, and at least the front 2 cars raced with respect tho so many didn't.

I don't know what it is, but I don't like NASCAR road courses. I am fine watching F1 and Indy races, but with NASCAR, I just prefer oval (though the Roval I don't mind as much). As for the race, I like how they raced clean up front, and some excitement at the end. Though I was ready for the race to be over by the second GWC attempt. I was hoping Kimi would have placed better, and liked having a few different names in the race, it added an unknown factor even though none placed all that well.
Looks like I'll miss next weeks race, since I don't have FS1, which is fine since I have a few things to do. Just have to remember Bristol on Easter.

I like NASCAR trying to diversify it's schedule a bit with road courses, but COTA simply sucks for Cup races. None of these guys seem to get how to race there and 1/4 the race is cautions because the race is only 68 laps. Well, glad Byron didn't win. His dominance this season [in races he finishes] is already getting boring.

Ya I agree, It is getting boring to see same guy winning, And of course we had to have the golden boy stop by and announce from home, Heaven forbid they couldn't say his name for a few weeks. LOL.

Chase wasn't home, he was still in Colorado for some reason.....
Had the Trucks and Xfinity on Sat, but barely paid any attention to it....
Eventhough he got turned 3 times in a couple laps early, Larson after
repairs managed to get 2 laps back and finished 12th....
Not that other drivers wrecking each other helped, but quite a feat on a roadcourse...
Think the best part of the Truck race was Zane, actually burning his truck down.. :)

I used to like racing when it was racing, now it is more politicized and politically correct, find it hard to follow any of the current driver’s , I kind of root for John hunter because I used to root for his dad joe nemechek, the clash was just ok but since when did whiz khalifa or cyphrus hill become any kind of entertainment let alone for a nascar race?

Over the last few years there has been a steady expansion of the demographics that follow NASCAR. Look at some of the new ownership groups. Makes sense that they at least try and do different things. NASCAR has lost a huge number of fans attending the races over the past decade. Didn't NASCAR at Indy have 300-400K back in the 90s? Looked awfully empty last year. Got to try something. Almost like baseball, look at what they did this year. And I'm all for a quicker game. Saw a minor league game last year and when it was done in 2:30 I couldn't believe it, was great.
Also note that just like every other sport, generations come and go and each sport evolves; it happens. What I watched as a kid is no longer what is out there now. Many generations of always complained "back in my day..."

Wow, what a joke, Committee overturns penalty for cheating parts. They keep fines and suspensions, but they get points back. This makes NASCAR look like a joke. So you get points taken away for tape on your car, But 4 cars from same company modify p[arts and that's ok. Can't wait to see what happens to Haley.

Problem lies in that Parts taken come from a Company hired by NASCAR....
Parts that don't seem to be meeting specs.....
They way the cars ran, after the parts were replaced, should have been a sign
they wouldn't have made any difference....
Since the parts were never on the track, any penalty is ridiculous to start with....

The difference is the tape was found after the race. With the louvers they were taken off the cars before qualifying. The tape thing hosed me in my fantasy league that week, but I understand the penalty, just as I can see not taking points for this. Now, if they had actually raced them, I would support the points penalty.
