Today, November 11, in the US and Canada, we remember our miltary veterans.
Thank you to all those who served in both country's forces.
In the US, specically, today is for our living past members of the miltary branches. Thanks for your service.

Absolutely. The only reason we have the privileges we do in this country is because of their sacrifices. Genuine thanks are due.

Certainly do appreciate each of You in Our TCDB Community! Some of my best memories & moments, while wearing the Uniform of the USN, over 40 years, was ALL the Great Folks that I have been able to meet, around the World. This was especially most memorable while on a NATO Cruise & Tour of Duty (circa 1989), enjoying the Company often of Our Canadian, British, Portuguese, West German (Our Admiral), Dutch, Norwegian, Danish, Italian and Belgian Comrades in Arms. Remember in early December of 1989, when We had The Mother of All Parties in Amsterdam, soon after the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. Happy Veteran's Day to Each of My Brothers & Sisters in the Service of FREEDOM, LIBERTY & JUSTICE!! May You have a most wonderful Veteran's Day and Veteran's Day Weekend!!!
Yours in The Journey of Freedom - Felix

Grateful for the service and sacrifice of all veterans. Both of my grandfathers served in WWII.
My mom's father was a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps. Although he never flew in combat himself, he trained many a pilot who did. About 20 years ago I was able to visit the airfields with him where he served.
My dad's father was in the Army Chemical Corps and did a lot of administration, strategy, battle plans, etc. He helped write the battle plan for what would've been the land battle in Japan, was one of the first to set foot in Japan after the bombs, received medals from South Korea for his service there, and was the C.O. of Dugway Proving Grounds. Due to exposure to radiation and other chemicals during his career he developed multiple myeloma at the age of 54 and died at the age of 58, nine years before I was born.

All of these personal accounts make this day extra special. Thanks to all of you for sharing the history that you and your families have had in serving this country.
My grandfather served in WWII as a mechanic and a bugler. We've still got one of his handwritten sheets that lists all the different bugle calls he'd need to make on any given day.
