Hi. I'm trying to import (copy and paste) a numbered checklist that I have, into Word. When I try to add a checkbox in front of the number, it just replaces the number with the box. Is there anyway to get around this so I can have a checkbox and keep the number?

[checkbox here] 3 The Little Droid, Artoo-Deetoo 
[checkbox here] 4 Space Pirate Han Solo

I'm trying to do this because the TCDB PDF font is too small and doesn't allow enough space to write down notes.

Exactly. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. 

You have to Customize your Bullets. Add a box Symbol in front of the number.  First go to your Symbols and choose a box; I used a box from MS Reference 1 font.  Insert the box symbol in your document. Then copy the box so it's in your clipboard.

Pick the Numbered style you want, then Customize.

Then put your cursor in front of the "1." in the Number format box and paste (Ctrl+V). I also added a space after the box.
