https://www.tcdb.com/Giveaway.cfm/gid/47/2022-MLB-Playoffs-Round-1
Entries will have to close soon, but it wasn't until last night that we knew the seeds.
Accepting entries until 8:00 PM EDT on 10/7/2022. Please go to the link, add a comment with the 4 teams from round 1 that you think will move on.
Anyone who goes 4 for 4 will move on to Round 2. (If no one goes 4 for 4, the 3 for 4's will move on.) Basically, the best predictors each round will move on.
Cards from the stack I have from previous donations (thanks to those who have helped with that!) will be the prizes. I may add others to the prize to "customize" it.
Enjoy and good luck! (And go Phillies!)

Just about 24 hours left to enter - and yes, I know that some games may be over or close to over by my deadline, but hey, enjoy the slight advantage that might give you.
Good luck!

Well, I'm pretty happy with how the playoffs have gone so far! If the Mets win tonight, it looks like I'll get to advance with them. (And even if they lose, I'm still happy to get 3 out of 4 right). And thanks again for doing this, Dan!

Looks like all the 3 for 3 people (6 of you) will advance to the next round as all who are 3 for 3 right now have picked the Mets. 2 people who are 2 for 3 picked the Padres, so if the Padres win, 8 will advance.
SLIGHT CHANGE IN PROCEDURE
I am going to allow those who participated in this first round to continue to pick (and I'll continue to track). Those who did not "advance" out of the first round won't be eligible for the "grand" prize, but I may be able to swing something for best overall through all series in addition to prizes for those who go all the way.
This change won't affect the original plan, but gives more people the opportunity to win something. I want you all to have some fun through the playoffs here!

I will open up Round 2 later tonight (after we know who advances). Round 2's deadline will be 8:00 PM EDT on the 11th (Tuesday night). Yes, again, some games will have already finished by then, but a longer series means less of a "leg up". But as long as your entry is in by 8PM Eastern on the 11th, it will count. I will continue to use this post for the contest announcements.
Thanks to the 56(!!) members who participated. I am thrilled so many played along. I didn't think only 6 or 8 would move on. Figured it would be more than that. That's why I'll also offer prizes to overall picks. They just won't be an numerous as the ones who advance as originally advertised. But please, I encourage all 56 to keep playing.

I'm surprised at the results of the first round so I'm not surprised such a low percentage were correct. I might go 0-4 if the Padres win...I forget exactly who I picked in TAMPA CLEVELAND but pretty sure I picked the Ray's.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

Contest like this are a good reminder to myself on why I do not gamble. I was wrong on 3 of 4 . The only team that matters ( in my eyes ) I got right. Go Phillies :) :) :)
