Music was my first love, as I was playing records on my own little record player before I could read. I can talk about music for days, and when I took "The History and Appreciation of Rock Music" in college (FAU), I actually did a 90 min presentation on 1970's Progressive Rock and how it evolved into the 1980s.
The bands I like, roughly in order of percentage of their music I enjoy:
King Crimson
Spock's Beard
Queen
Yes (& ABWH)
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (& ELPowell & 3)
Van Der Graaf Generatr / Peter Hammill
Gentle Giant
Porcupine Tree (saw them Sunday night)
Dream Theater
CHVRCHES (saw them in December)
Haken (saw them in June)
Rush
Queensryche
Asia
Roxy Music
Marillion
Collective Soul
Kansas
Symphony X
Ayreon / Star One / Arjen
Nightwish
Genesis (all incarnations! / saw them last November finally)
Pink Floyd
Foreigner
Bad Company
Boston
The Sweet
That's just a list the bands that I really like a lot. There is a lot of great music out there.

I'm a huge music fan. Have been since the end of high school. My best friend and I used to spend all our money on Saturdays running around to all the local music shops. So many of them are gone now because of the internet boom. But that's ok. I still get my music fix when I need it. And, frankly, it's better for my wallet because I don't spend nearly as much on music as I used to. Now it's mostly cards.
Anyway...My favorite artists are...
1. Metallica
2. Iron Maiden
3. "Weird Al' Yankovic
4. Slayer
5. Megadeth
6. Antharx
7. Def Leppard
So, as you can see, I definitely like heavy metal and hard rock, but I will absolutely listen to anything I can get my hands on and have favorite artists / songs in all genres.

I'd be more worried about you liking Shinedown than Creed I am quite surprised to see The Arrogant Worms on here, thought I was one of the select few that knew of them. STAY DE-MENTED!

I liked the first album and a couple songs from their latest.
As for the Worms I love them. They played Musicfest in Peterborough a few times.

I devote a whole lot more time and money to music than I do to cards, with a current inventory of almost 7000 CDs, LPs, cassettes, and DVDs (and another 5000 that I sold or traded away over the years because it was impossible to keep everything). I listen to everything from J-pop to death metal (sometimes in the same song!) but am a big fan of free jazz, prog rock, metal, electronic, old school rap, and shoegaze. I am curating this festival of improvised and experimental music in November.

Iced Earth is a fantastic band. My first 3 metal albums were Powerslave, The Odyssey (Symphony X), and Alive in Athens (Iced Earth).
I'm a bigger fan of their earlier stuff now but growing up I loved Dark Saga (esp bc I was a big Spawn and Todd MacFarlane fan growing up). Actually have a MacFarlane designed Maddux figure in my Maddux non-card collection!
