Sorry guys, but there was just not useful information in this thread so far for the questions I asked. An individual-based sport is completely different from a team sport, so comparing competing team leagues to this is pretty much irrelevant.
For the record, NFL has NO PROBLEM with players going to the XFL, CFL or Arena League and then coming back into the NFL. One bit of proof is PJ Walker, current QB with the Carolina Panthers. He was with the Steelers team for a few years, went to the new XFL and became a superstar there before the pandemic shut down the league in 2020 before the season even ended. The Panthers signed him as a backup QB and he's been there since. He may be a back-up QB but he's won every Panthers game where he was the starting QB! Team sports don't care where you went or go, they have no say in your return to the league.
PGA is making this an issue for golfers! I want to know if they (PGA) stand a chance at upholding that stance without seriously damaging their reputation and financial backing. If they stand by the suspensions, they are giving the LIV Tour even more reason AND ABILITY to succeed.

I think that with them giving these golfers the boot, basically, its gonna haunt them fiancially. Like others have said, many leagues like the 1914 Federal League in Baseball, or the USFL, or XFL, some have had success, and some havent. The, "major leagues," havent suspended, or banned people for making that choice. PGA is going to shoot themselves in the foot, because they are going to lose money because of this bad publicity, and the reputation of banning people just because they switched what company you work for. Heres a stupid example: If you worked at a McDonalds, and then switched to a Wendys, would McDonalds ban you from returning to work? I think if these players want to come back to PGA, and they say no, then its going to come back to bite them, as more and more people will switch over, and PGA will fold in the end. Hopefully, that answered your question.

I think that it will hurt PGA for saying you can't play with us after playing with LIV. The other thing is the EA PGA games. You now just took golfers that you can't use anymore and there will be less intrest in the game. I think that the PGA has already hurt themselves both finacally and their representation. They have hurt relationships and the media was all over it. This is partly because the cancel culture we live in. Regardless who is right or wrong the damage has been dealt.

Thank you for the replies, TK and jw. That is exactly what I was asking. I mean, it is all personal opinion right now until something actually happens with the whole thing. But opinions were what I was asking to get. I didn't even think about the video game side of this! With less of the big names available to be in the game now, EA will not pay PGA the same amount of money for the licensing to make the PGA Golf game. That's a loss that very few would have even thought about before this discussion. That may not come for a couple of years depending on the contract that EA and PGA already have. But it could happen later this year if the contract was almost over or if EA and PGA only had annual contracts.
Also, I like the McD's/Wendy's analogy for one simple fact. I was in a Food Lion grocery store today and was standing in line behind a lady wearing a Lowe's Foods shirt and hat. She was buying her beer and milk at a major local competitor to her own workplace. I thought that was funny, especially since I did the same thing in the past when I worked for a Harris Teeter store but I knew that Food Lion was cheaper than them most of the time. But I never went to one store wearing the "uniform" of another store. I later worked for Food Lion as well. I know that restaurants and grocery stores aren't the same thing as sports affiliations, but one league banning members just because they went to the other league is still ridiculous in my own personal opinion. Since the PGA is purely making money from sponsorships, network contracts and attendance (in that order), can they afford to burn the bridge for many of the athletes that are the reason for those sponsors, contracts and attendees?

I dont think they can unless they, "take back," their actions. Even if that happens, maybe some sponsers will still go and support LIV even if they do invite these players back. It might help PGA that now people are saying that the investors had to do with a murder and Bob Costas saying Mickelson went over for blood money, but we wont go that far.

Regardless of their reasons for going to LIV golf it's petty for the PGA to "suspend/ban" the players AND it also puts the european tour in a bad spot since some of the "suspended/banned" players had dual memberships .

Well, it's become obvious that the LIV Tour is affecting PGA even more. Another player left the PGA Tuesday and the PGA announced that the 2023 season will include an extra $20 Million in purse money!!! The Wyndham in August ends the 2022 PGA season. Is that normal? I didn't think the season ended here in Greensboro in August. I thought the season ran into the Fall. The 2023 PGA season starts next January, which also doesn't seem normal to me. I'm not a golf fan, but I hear a bunch about it on my local news that I watch every night. Can anyone clarify my thoughts about this?

Took a quick look at the 2021-2022 schedule....
https://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/schedule.html
Seems their season, starts in mid-Sept runs through Aug,
like you mentioned.....
Which will give them two weekends off between seasons....

After the Wyndham is the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the BMW Championship, and then the Tour Championship, which ends on August 28th. I don't know when the season truly starts though. I know that the Travelers is coming up here in CT but I've truly never had any interest in going. With PGA making this move it almost makes them look desperate in my mind. The person who left, Brooks Koepka, (2-time PGA cup winner,) is a big one to lose. I'm not saying that if TIger in his prime were to leave, it's as big as that, but still a massive blow. They've already updated Koepka's wiki page to say his with LIV. The money that is being thrown around here is absolutely crazy, but I don't think that money will do it for PGA. So many moves and actions are happening really fast and will probably continue so it'll be hard to tell what the true outcome will be. The biggest blow I see the PGA getting is if NBC makes the jump. I don't see that happening though.
