Im aware its ideal when displaying cards to have UV glass to prevent discoloration/fading/yellowing. But am left wondering if anyone has used UV film on reg glass to help protect collectibles? I have a couple of display cases that do not have UV glass and wanting to free cards/collectibles from binders/storage not to mention that repurposing is cheaper than finding "new". Not just cards but autod baseballs/photos

It would depend on how applying UV film to the glass ends up looking.  Compared to replacing the regular glass with UV coated glass.

lol, I pictured in my head it would not look good if I tried adding a film (especially since they arent traditional square/rectangle, but am picturing a $50 bad car tint job???) There are coatings (like a spray) that claim to offer uv protection in place of a film and was wondering if anyone had success/failure with it. Probably overthinking it, but am reminded that 30 years ago lucite holders were best to protect vintage cards, but then everyone discovered it could damage the cards

Since they're not square/rectangle you can get UV (OP-3) arcylic sheets to replace the glass. Commonly called Frame Grade since they're used when framing pictures/art that you want to protect. Much easier to cut to shape than glass.  I've used UV-resistant clear spray coatings but not on glass. And I don't know what grades or how much UV protection they provide. I looked on Krylon's website and they don't mention the UV rating (OP-3 is 98% protection).
