Other than the wrecks, can't say there was much to draw my attention.....
Nomally glued to the tv, pretty much all the races were close to getting flipped to something else....

Ya but other than in the beginning of the 3rd stage, There was tons of side by side racing. I thought it was one of the best 500's in awhile

I really thought Austin Cindric was a waste of a seat when he first came in. I was wrong, he has gotten better each year since 2017.

I really enjoyed the race for most of it. Single-file to waste laps is boring, but the rest of the racing was really exciting. I think it is very fitting that Cindric wins the race in the #2 car in his first attempt when Keselowski is still winless in the 500. Maybe Brad will realize now WHY he hasn't won it yet. BK has always just shoved everyone out of the way and he did it 3 times today. If they can't go as fast as he wants to go, he just wrecks them and that's what he's always done. He just got lucky this year to not also wreck himself while moving others out of the way. What he did to Burton and Stenhouse was ridiculous! Even if it was an accident with Harrison, he did exactly the same thing to Ricky over a hundred laps later in the same spot of the car AND on the track. I don't have a problem with anyone's actions coming to the finish line though. That is everyone for themselves to WIN the race! That's different than racing for position with contact long before the race is over like Brad did so many times. Anyway, I loved the race today. Very exciting for most of it, very unpredictable - as should be expected at Daytona, and some really good racing calculations at 187 MPH. That was a great start to the 2022 season. I think a rookie winning the 500 to lock into the playoffs in the 1st race of the season is even more exciting than McDowell getting his 1st career win last year in the 500 after having hundreds of starts. Looks like the start of a great season in the Cup Series. The Truck and NXS races were quite entertaining too and they don't even have a new vehicle. It's going to be a fun season to watch!

That's not a really high bar to get over lately.....
It wasn't a bad race... but Daytona and to some extent Talladega has
been more of "I'll catch the highlights" type race... instead of attention grabbing....
I thought it was one of the best 500's in awhile

Its a sure sign I'm getting old, but I fell asleep watching the race. Nothing against the race itself, I usually fall asleep watching sporting events anymore. However I am a bit upset because it doesn't look like the top names finishing in the top 5. Hope it stays that way for a while. I'm just happy to see racing again. Maybe I can find a recap on Youtube, hopefully its not too long or I might fall asleep watching that too, lol.
