Can't believe it's almost time to start thinking about the 2022 baseball season (provided the lockout doesn't continue and disrupts the season).
I am currently running 6 TCDB-based* Yahoo leagues, 3 of which are rotisserie (roto) leagues, and the other 3 are head to head (H2H) leagues. There is another TCDB league that involves prizes, which is headed up by member bbcardz, who will post separately about the rules and procedures of being involved with that league. Him and I coordinate the drafts so that we don't step on each other's toes as I know some people who participate in that league also like to participate in the free ones.
* - Leagues were created for TCDB members to join. In one of the roto leagues, there is one manager who is not a TCDB member. He is a former co-worker who ran a roto league that I was in, but that league lost too many managers, so he folded it, and when he did, I offered him a place in one of our leagues.
There is only one rule in the free leagues - participate. We don't like teams going into robo-mode. There were several teams that did so last year, and they will not be returning this year.
We have a LOT of new members here (that started within the last 9 months) and I'm encouraging you to join us if you like. Costs nothing to join. Please send me a private message with the subject the same as this forum thread (I ask for that, because I create a new folder in my messages, and move them, and it's a lot easier to do so when everyone does this uniformly), and state which league (roto, h2h, or both) that you'd like to join. If you do wish to manage multiple teams, that's cool too - just let me know, I can set you up in multiple leagues of the same type. If we have a lot of new requests to join, I will create new leagues to accommodate that, without forcing our current leagues to have too many managers (we have found that 10-12 in a league is ideal). If you were in a league last year, because of not auto-renewing everyone, I may need to get everyone's opt-in this year. It won't hurt to send me a note stating you want to play again, but it isn't required. I really just need to know how many new managers/teams we'll have.
Drafts usually occur around the weekend before the season starts (season usually starts on a Thursday, and we try to have all drafts complete by Monday night). There are some nights where we have 2 drafts, but I try to keep them 1 roto and 1 h2h so I'm usually the only person involved in both. Generally, Yahoo opens up the leagues mid-February, so we have a good month before the real action starts, but it would be good to know as soon as possible how many teams we need to accommodate.
Thanks,
Dan
